| 1977 Chevrolet Corvette Same owner for the last 13 years, this Corvette has been continuously upgraded and maintained. There is quite a mountain of receipts. The original L48 engine was livened up with Chevrolet Vortec heads, a slightly more aggressive cam and Edelbrock Performer manifold and carburetor about 7k miles ago. There was a definite improvement in performance without sacrificing any drivability. Lots of other belts, hoses, plugs and miscellaneous were also replaced at this point. When the work was complete, I put the car on a 300 mile road trip and it performed flawlessly. All of the original parts were kept and are included with the sale of the car, including the chrome wiring covers that you don’t see currently installed under the hood. The air conditioning unit is almost entirely new and blows wonderfully cold air. I believe I spent over $1200 on this alone. There is approximately 10k miles on new brakes and shocks. The suspension on the car is very comfortable on rough roads. If you’ve ever driven the next generation of corvettes (84-92) you’ll find this car much more forgiving over bumpier terrain. Tires are Goodyear Eagle ST’s with 85% tread and provide that stock look with the factory rally wheels. The finish is an older repaint, at least 15 years old. It takes a shine very nicely and is beautiful from a few paces away, but closer inspection will reveal a few thin areas along edges where too much was buffed out and the usual nicks and marks of a car that has been driven occasionally. When I first bought the car, I had a painter touch up behind the rear wheels and the “dog legs.” The interior is mostly new with fresh leather seats installed on new foam, a new carpet kit, and a new console plate. The color, cut, and style of all the new parts in the interior are exact style, material and fit as original. Instruments function correctly, but the clock seems to lose time rather quickly. There is a hidden CD player behind the passenger seat along with some speakers in boxes on the package shelf that are not completely wired in yet. They can easily be removed if you prefer the original radio in the dash. You’ll also notice the t-top mount kit on the luggage rack, which is an awesome place to store the tops and are a super secure mount even at freeway (plus) speeds. This was a 1977 only feature, and for some reason is missing in many of them. Known issues: Obviously, a car of this age is sold as-is, no warranty is implied or expressed. I am doing my best to accurately describe the condition of the car, including the following issues: The ignition key cover doesn’t hold inside the ignition any longer. I have a replacement unit that will be included. The transmission leaves a few drops of oil where it sits. Serious buyers are invited to ask questions or ask for other picture or videos. I’ve enjoyed this car immensely over the years and will miss it when it’s gone, but a larger family and less free time to drive it have made it necessary to sell. email or call 509-953-6338 $ 12000.00 |
